DJ Juice - The Chi-Town Show

Writer: veteransquadradioveteransquadradio

I am a Dj from Chicago and started mixing music in mid 1980’s.

During this era Hip Hop & Break dancing was spreading from New York to Chicago & L.A.

I got into break dancing but just the basic moves compared to my cousins & friends.

The mixing on the turntables is what caught my attention and the rest is history.

Many Dj’s were using creative names at the time so I decided to go by the Dj name

Jammin “The House” Juicey.

I was more into Mobile Dj than Clubs.

I was a guest at many Clubs in the 90’s but never a resident. The summer block parties and other mobile gigs is what I enjoyed.

With the Birth of House music here in Chicago mixing these new beats was an amazing phase in creative sets to make sure the crowd was entertained and jamming to the hottest House music available.

During this same era, Freestyle music was spreading out from New York which helped make mixes more explosive.

In early 2000 I stopped mixing and committed to the family life.

About 10 years ago I rolled up my sleeves blew the dust off the Vinyl and back to the music. I have done some gigs here & there, some Block parties and live FB shows.

I guest mixed for Chicago Classic House Radio and now am a resident Dj on the

Veteran Squad Radio which has accepted with open arms like family.

And believe me when I say they live by their slogan; We All We Got, and they not only show it they mean it and makes me thankful to be part of this amazing group of Dj’s
